What Happens at Camp?
Campers are assigned to a unit consisting of girls going into the same grade. Each unit has two adult Unit Leaders. This group stays together for the entire week so the girls bond and ‘make new friends’. Our program staff of Leadership girls (teenage Program Aides) will assist the adult Unit Leaders with a variety of activities during the day. The girls will have activities throughout the day, with a little down time built in to just have fun with their unit. They will come home tired and excited at the same time, looking forward to coming back the next day.
Will it be Fun?
Yes, of course!!! All week long, the girls participate in age-appropriate nature, craft and skills activities. There are opportunities for Outdoor Cooking, Nature Activities, Hiking, Girl Scout Skills, Arts & Crafts, Singing, Making New Friends and MORE!!
Older girls (going in to 6th grade & up) will have the opportunity to have an overnight(s) where the evening program will include skits, singing, s’mores and a traditional campfire Scouts Own Ceremony before spending the night at Camp.
We have an All-Camp event planned for Friday afternoon to close camp on a high note. There will be a morning filled with Girl Scout tradition of “wide games” and a camp-provided lunch. This is a time for the entire camp to come together and celebrate their accomplishments at Petaluma Day Camp and being Girl Scouts.
